Khan made his acting debut as a child actor in Yaadon Ki Baraat which released in 1973. It was a film of his uncle Nasir Hussain. He began his acting career as a adult with Holi (1984) and then crossed a big milestone into the film industry with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), as its lead character.
